1. Scope and our role
This Privacy Policy explains how Ready Readers collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information when individuals visit our website, submit a request, enroll in or purchase an educational service, attend an online workshop, use interactive learning or progress features, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with our online educational programs.
This Policy applies to information controlled by Ready Readers. It does not govern independent websites, payment processors, video conferencing providers, or other third parties that publish their own privacy notices. Where we process information solely on behalf of an institutional or business customer, that customer may be the controller and its privacy notice may apply in addition to this Policy.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
We may collect identifiers and contact details such as name, email address, telephone number, billing address, and account credentials; enrollment and transaction details such as selected service, invoice status, purchase history, discounts, cancellations, and refund records; learning profile information such as stated goals, current level, schedule, preferred learning format, interests, accessibility requests, submitted assignments, quiz responses, workshop participation, instructor communications, and feedback; and content you intentionally submit through forms, support requests, or interactive features.
If a parent or guardian purchases a service for a minor, we may collect the guardian’s contact and transaction information and limited information about the learner that is necessary to deliver the service. We ask users not to submit sensitive personal information unless it is specifically needed and requested through an appropriate process.
Information collected automatically
When you use the website or online learning environment, we may collect device and network information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, language, device identifiers, referring page, approximate region, and date and time; usage information such as pages viewed, links selected, session duration, navigation path, feature interaction, course access, completion events, quiz attempts, and technical errors; and cookie or similar technology data as described in our Cookie Policy.
Information from other sources
We may receive transaction confirmation from payment providers, attendance or technical records from webinar and learning platforms, referral information from a partner or customer who directs you to us, and publicly available or consented information needed to verify a request or prevent fraud. We do not purchase lists of sensitive personal information.
3. How we use personal information
We use personal information to review requests and recommend an appropriate service; create and manage enrollment or account records; deliver courses, workshops, study plans, digital materials, assignments, quizzes, challenges, and progress tools; personalize sequencing, practice, explanations, and review recommendations; process invoices, payments, cancellations, and refunds; communicate about schedules, service delivery, support, safety, and policy updates; measure participation and prepare progress information; maintain, troubleshoot, and secure our systems; prevent fraud, misuse, and unauthorized access; comply with tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory duties; establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and improve content, accessibility, operations, and learner experience.
Where required, we rely on consent. In other cases, processing may be necessary to perform a contract, respond before entering a contract, comply with law, protect vital or legal interests, or pursue legitimate interests such as delivering and improving secure educational services. You may withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the applicable basis, but withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing.
We may create aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual and use it for research, service evaluation, planning, reporting, and improvement. We do not attempt to re-identify information that we maintain as de-identified except to test whether de-identification controls are effective.
4. Communications
We send transactional communications that are necessary to respond to a request, confirm enrollment or payment, deliver services, provide support, or communicate important operational and legal information. We may send educational updates or promotional messages where permitted by law. You can opt out of promotional email using the instructions in the message or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not stop necessary service communications.
6. Payment information
Payments may be processed by an independent payment provider. We may receive a transaction identifier, payment status, payer name, billing details, last four digits or card type, and fraud or dispute information, but we do not intentionally store complete card numbers or card security codes in our general website systems. Payment providers process information under their own notices and security standards.
7. AI-assisted learning and automated processing
AI-assisted features may process learning prompts, responses, course activity, stated goals, and progress signals to recommend practice, organize a study route, generate explanations, or support instructor review. We seek to limit inputs to information reasonably needed for the educational function. Users should not enter confidential, sensitive, regulated, or third-party personal information into an AI feature unless explicitly instructed.
Automated recommendations support learning and service delivery; they are not intended to make legal or similarly significant decisions about eligibility, employment, credit, health, or access to essential services. Where human review is appropriate, instructors or staff may evaluate automated output before relying on it. You may contact us to ask about a recommendation or request a reasonable non-automated explanation or alternative.
9. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including to deliver services, maintain learning and transaction records, respond to requests, meet tax or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect security. Retention varies by record type. Contact requests that do not become engagements are generally reviewed for deletion when no longer operationally useful. Transaction and contractual records may be retained for legally required limitation, tax, and audit periods. Learning activity may be kept for the access period and a reasonable period afterward to support continuity, unless a longer or shorter period is required or requested.
When retention ends, information is deleted, anonymized, or securely isolated until deletion is technically completed. Backup copies may persist for a limited cycle and remain protected from ordinary use.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the nature of the information, such as access controls, authentication, provider review, secure transmission where appropriate, logging, backup procedures, and staff confidentiality expectations. No internet system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting credentials and using secure devices and networks. If we identify a breach requiring notice, we will respond and notify affected parties and authorities as required by law.
11. Location and international transfers
Ready Readers operates from Colorado, United States, and providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Privacy laws may differ from those in your location. When required for an international transfer, we use an available legal mechanism and reasonable contractual or technical safeguards. By requesting services from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed in the United States as necessary to provide the service.
12. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to request access to personal information; correction of inaccurate information; deletion; a portable copy; restriction or objection to certain processing; withdrawal of consent; and information about categories collected, purposes, sources, and recipients. Residents of certain U.S. states may also have rights to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling and to appeal a denied request. We do not discriminate for exercising applicable rights.
To submit a request, contact us using the details below and describe the right you wish to exercise. We will take reasonable steps to verify identity and authority before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted, but we may require proof of authorization and direct identity verification. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any permitted denial or extension. You may appeal a refusal by replying with “Privacy Appeal” and the reason you believe the decision should be reviewed.
You may control cookies through the cookie interface and browser settings. Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not interpreted consistently across the industry. Where legally required and technically supported, we will treat a recognized opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request for the associated browser or device.
13. Children’s privacy
The public website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate parental authorization and applicable safeguards. Services for a minor must be arranged by a parent or legal guardian. We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary for the educational activity. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information without authorization should contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as our services, technologies, providers, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide appropriate notice and seek consent where required.
